well prob wont make it tonight.. but i guess i can do it now!
1- having and bringing my children up.
2- been able to love and accept my siblings... unconditionaly... and they seem to HAVE to keep in touch with me. it's so nice! we have a big family. 7 kids.
3-learned and power of prayer at a very young age. and have made it part of my life.
4-have taken the opportunities to learn to TEACH and been teaching at the womans shelter... and the niantic womans prison for many years now. gotta love it!
5-i have learned to love and accept people for who they REALLY are.. and see past their faults, challenges and love them anyway.
6- learned to NOT let others take advantage of my time and me. this was actually REALLY hard... it's hard to say no. or know when to STOP.

At first, I thought this sounded a little egotistical, but after a little thought, I realized I do have one accomplishment of which I am most proud: My adopted daughter. She was in child protective services. She came to me with her hair falling out, her teeth, black and rotted, and a foul mouth that would rival NYC cab driver. She came to me at four years old, and I was horrified. She looked at me and said, "Can I call you, Mommy?"
I have been her Mommy ever since. She's fourteen now, and it hasn't been easy, but she is my greatest accomplishment. I have other children and grandchildren but by far, she is a extraordinary accomplishment.

What a wonderful accomplish Carol - and what a very lucky little girl to have found someone amazing to love and care for her.

I have to say my greatest accomplishment was returning to school when my 4 kids were little. I was one of the hardest but most rewarding things I have ever done. I dropped out in grade 9 so I had to return first to get my high school credits and then onward to college. I still had to take care of the house and the kids and study my brains outs but the feeling of accomplishment when I graduated not once but twice with two degrees was one of my proudest moments. I really didn't care if any one else thought it was an amazing thing I was doing - I just wanted to prove to myself I could do it - and I did!

Hey Mary and Bridget,
This is fun. I'll make a list.
1. Married to the same man for 38 years this May.
2. Raised four kids one of whom is a physicist.
3. One of whom is wealthy and about to have twin boys.
4. I have 9 grandchildren 4 boys and 5 girls.
5. Got my Masters at 40.
6. Still, my greatest accomplishment is my baby girl who drives me nuts.

I've jus gotten like a free 15 1'2 inch flat screen, digital t.v. ($250 value), a free Kitchen Aid mixer ($400 value), and am almost ready to "cash in" for an $800 HP gold laptop computer absolutely free from Best Buy.....I guess I did sort of well.....getting almost $1,500 worth of products for free, through my refunding hobby! Actually, my refunding hobby has almost turned into a "job!"

OK, I came up with five. I didn't think there were that many. I can't pick one I'm proudest of, I don't think, but some are a bigger deal than others.

Here's one: General Dynamics moved me, at their expense, from Michigan to California for a technical editing job working a ground launched cruise missile program witih the air force. I didn't move back to Michigan until 19 years later.

Then being able to get my oldest son out of the public school and start home-schooling to see him progress. I am so proud of him.

I just thought of another accomplishment: I didn't strangle my puppy during house training. Yuck!

My second accomplishment made my first possible - and the third - I'm a survivor of domestic violence and represented myself in a very sticky divorce

Nora I can't believe you haven't used your Wii fit yet! I want one. I think it would be great for me and the kids, especially when the weather is cold.

In my short life, there hasn't been much that can constitute as an huge accomplishment like some of the ones I have seen. Nonetheless, Some of my proudest accomplishments are:
1. I lost 37 pounds this year. It was a goal that I worked up to and I found the motivation to accomplish it.
2. Up until this point in time i have maintained an excellent weighted GPA. i have a 4.35 as it stands.
3. I qualified for the national honors society, something that has always been a goal to me.
4. I have made it this far without completely falling apart. I have had plenty of opportunities to lose it, namely in middle school, but I survived this far, and I know that I can continue.
5. I have acquired the strength to think for myself and not allow myself to be manipulated by people who want to use me. I have also found outlets for my emotions to stop myself from bottling them up.

Wow, Carol, I'm so sorry to hear you lost your doctor, but I am sooo happy that he went into Hospice care.....that is the most wonderful place on earth........I call them "God's Chosen Angels," and not myself, but all of the other dedicated, loving souls who are so dedicated to providing the very best "end of life" care that's possible. How long was your doctor in Hospice before he died? I think people have to be diagnosed for 6 mos. or less before they're admitted.
Thanks for sharing....now, it's off to Fafsa Land........awwwwww, probably the rest of the night......I've already got a migraine from working on it before, and it just gets worse!
Have a great chat everybody, and good night!

I feel accomplished for doing all kinds of things in my life so far and being open to new things.
