Since we've adopted her, we've noticed that Giaa makes a weird kind of chirping, almost owlish hoot. It's like a cross between a hoot and a cricket sound. She's always made it at odd times, which made us think it was a sound of protest- like if one of us picks her up, she makes the sound right away.
It kind of sounds like she's whining while she does it, or protesting something. It's just so different!
Tonight, we finally realized that it isn't a protest- in fact, it's her purr! I've heard some deeper or softer purrs- cats are like humans, in that their 'voice' can differ. But this has got to be the oddest purr I've ever heard in my life! I need to charge the batteries for my camera, but once I do, I'll catch it on camera.
It's very loud, and just so unique!
