Don't let the title fool you. Despite the constant chaos that seems to exist in my house I have managed to hold on to a few hobbies. I have a few interests that I dabble in but the only steady one now is Gather. Going through the articles on Gather frees my mind from dwelling on many of the issues disturbing me. I do love reading but have never looked upon it as a hobbie. Reading for me is a part of life. I could no more go without reading than I could go without brushing my teeth. I there is a book that captures my interest I will read non stop until its conclusion. I have never read just one book at time, choosing instead to have piles of books scattered thoughout the house and car.
Other interests are cross stitching, crocheting, writing and photography. These are the ones I float my interest in. I tend to get bored easily so I have many half finished projects collecting dust. Someday I may finish one or two of them. Cooking held a fascination for me for many years but depression robbed me of much of my motivation. At times my curiousity in a new recipe will convince me to venture back into the kitchen but my stay there is never long.
I know exposing myself to new ideas and thoughts might help spark my interest in my activities again. I do see glimpses of the old focus peeking out now and again.

Reading is a big part of my life as well -- most of my other hobbies have gone by the wayside with kids -- sigh :-) PIF
