Not being much of Lincoln fan, I'd rather see someone like Coolidge used. Coolidge started no wars, balanced the budget for almost his entire 6 plus years in office, started no new government programs and repeatedly said it was not his nor government's job to do more than administer justice, public lands, defense, and foreign affairs. No way a man like that could get elected today.
