Oh Don't Worry, YOUR Taxes Won't Be Raised.....Right
by Marilyn Mackenzie
Obama won't tax anyone making under $250,000, right? Isn't that what he said?
Today on the news (it was either NBC or CBS) they mentioned that Obama is considering taxing the health insurance benefits of anyone working and receiving them. Health benefits have never been taxed before. But he's considering taxing them. Well, so much for that promise.
He's also talking about taxing the oil companies, something like $2 or $3 billion dollars over what they pay now.
Before all you liberals jump up and down with glee, please consider this carefully. Do you really not understand that when businesses have their taxes raised, we pay them?
Every time you buy a gallon of gas, you're not only paying for the gas, but for the overhead of the gas staion, for the salaries of employees, for refining, for taxes, etc. If taxes are raised, the oil companies are not going to pay their employees less. They're not going to pay their shareholders less. So what will they do? They'll raise their prices.
Of course, another option for big businesses is to leave the country instead of raising prices.
So, are you still doing the "yippee skippy dance" knowing that Obama wants to raise taxes on oil companies...and on lots of other businesses? Seriously?
Obama said he would not raise taxes on anyone making less than $250,000. Then, there was some talk about maybe that number would have to be lower. Mayber $200,000. Or maybe even $175,000.
But he lied.
If he raises taxes that much for the oil companies, you'll pay for that no matter what income level you enjoy. Or even if you're unemployed.
And if you're employed and have health benefits and he decides to start taxing those, you'll pay no matter what is your income level.
I wonder what is next?
Personally, I think the President needs to take about two months off for vacation. Either that or he needs to take one project and work on it, get the input of the American people like he said he wanted and said he would, then make an informed decision. Instead, he's trying to take every pet project every liberal Democrat ever thought up and put it into practice right now. Before 100 days is over and done with, he wants us to be as much a socialist nation as possible. Amazing.

The fun is just beginning, aren't you relishing the next 3.75 years?
Mooch
Exactly what programs are you so willing to pay for?
The simple fact is that our economy is F***ED up! NO ONE elected President could be REALISTICALLY expected NOT to raise our taxes. Hello.....anyone would raise taxes in this situation.
I really think that America is like the Titanic, we don't realize how big the iceberg we hit was and how fast the water is sinking the ship.
Flying by so I can get to everyone that I can, sorry about the generics, but count this comment as a pitch in to my mom's birthday present, and her birthday is April 3. thanks, and thank you for being my gather friend and for sharing, making gather go round and round.
And lets not forget... a rise in gas prices doesn't just hurt us at the pumps... it drives up our cost of electricity, the cost to have food/goods shipped to stores, an increased burden on school districts for buses, etc. Even a small increase hurts dearly!
The Titanic/iceberg analogy is perfect!
President Obama is .............black, uppity, bright, accomplished, educated, competent.
Pick one or more and leave it at THAT?
But I do note the many defenders of Obama continue to couch opposition to him as at best quasi racist. Not all of them but still too many.
But the best part is that the Obama administration has realized now that its got its "desperately needed" spending bills, it has to stop downing the overall state of the economy. Isn't it funny that now all of sudden that he and his people are saying the basics are still sound? Didn't McCain/Bush get ridiculed for saying just the same thing?
But it's the change many voted for I guess. Hope it hurts them as bad as it's getting me.
Helping you reach your gather goals!
