I was in NH this weekend for my son's 34th birthday, and my DIL did a Cruise ship theme. What a great job! The invitations were just like 'cruise documents', and the 'ship' was called 'Chicken of the Seas'. When I got there, they had a 'boarding' photo session, then we had appetizers. They posted a full 'main dining room' menu. We started with bread, strawberry soup, caesar salad, marinated sirloin tips w/ mashed potatoes. For dessert, I made a Chocolate Dulce la leche cake and a Tortuga rum cake. Also we made Mojitos! We played a 'nostalgic toy' trivia game and a name that tune game where my son played notes on his guitar. We all won 'Tropical Trivia' trophies. My son and his FIL (who was also celebrating his birthday) wore 'captains hats'. We made towel animals like you get on ships. They also had ocean wave sounds on CD playing and ocean scenery over all the windows. They always go all out planning these parties and it's so much fun. My DIL got my son a 'treasure chest' with a bunch of $1.00 coins in it. It looked like 'buried treasure':) Here are a few pics. I can't post their pics because they don't like them floating around the world wide web and I respect their privacy.
