Bare feet, a beach and a couple of buckets show that a child’s simple sense is a kind of wisdom.
These children bring their own touch to the world around us.

Is she wearing pink in support of California teachers? :-)
(I would, but due to my extreme pink aversion, I don't actually own anything pink... The best I have is washed-out red and vague lavender.)
"To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour."
Great job!
These shots are just stunning, Madame D! They remind me of Tonia's single leaf afloat on molten water... shots that are so clear and heartbreakingly lovely. I'd hang them on my walls proudly!
Mariana, thanks!
Joel, thank you. Good to see you again.
Marilee, you are quite right. The beach is my temple, my refuge, my meditation place. It strengthens me.
Marianne, thank you. The sun was just right from where I was standing. It gave me the gift of some wonderful reflections--in more ways than these.
Thank you, Jessie.
Doyle, that last one is my favorite too. I'd like to print that one.
Thank you, Dorine.
Erin, thanks. I went to the shore to give some thought to my own children and found these beautiful kids.
DiAnA, thank you.
Aniko, I doubt that she's wearing pink for that reason although it did strike me as interesting that the boy had a classic blue bucket and the girl had a pink one.
Debra, I still can! Stretch! Yoga!
Victoria, thanks!
Robyn, it's one of my favorite places to be!
That's wonderful, Debbie. I could have used those lines for this.
Rose, thank you. It so easy to entertain a child without having it cost a thing!
Thank you, Magi.
Thanks, Granny Janny.
Ro-mama-iyah, see what fun you'll have? Simple joys that keep a silly grin on your face for years to come.
Wow, Duckie! Thanks so much.
marianne, the day was chilly and the water was cold. Nothing deterred these kids from having fun though. It's a joy to watch.
Marilee, I really enjoyed the reflections. Beats dripping wet any day. Haha.
Phoenix, that shot is my favorite. Each time I look at it, it brings up lots of things to contemplate. I might make it my focal point for meditation for a while.
The coast is 3 hours from me and it's pretty filthy with the oil platforms and litter that people toss in there. I'm not sure why the Texas Gulf Coast is so dirty, well the area I get to anyway. Having to scrape tar off your feet after a walk on the beach is just not that much fun!
Kathleen, thanks. When I lived in Santa Barbara (Calif) we had the same issue with tar, although it was from natural seepage in the ocean floor there if I recall. I do enjoy the beaches around Southern California very much.
