I would like people to leave comments on this because I am curious what everyone thinks. PLEASE NO ONE say really bad things, but leave your opinion though. I DO NOT want there to be a fight or war on here. So with that said...here it is:
I am atheist. I have my own personal reasons why I don't believe in God...or any religion. I have heard the same things said : "don't be mad at God", "God has plans", "god has his reasons". Nothing will change my decision until I am ready and if I will ever do so. I never say never because one day I might get into religion again. However, I am angry at a lot of people I guess about religion. Every one wants to fight and tell each other they are wrong. Why? Why do that? We have so many problems in the world why fight over what some one is or is not believeing in? I hate when religions fight. I have heard christians fight with Catholics and judis priests and vice versa. Why? You all are believeing in God...JUST in a different way. Athiests...some times I am ashamed to tell I am athiest ONLY because some (not all) atheist start fights about God. I thought an atheist didnt believe in any religion and "live and let live". A lot of people dont know I am athiest because I will have real depth conversations about god and do it with out offending them. I had a preacher of a huge local church tell me that at least I am honest and god smiles more for what I do and say because he knows a lot of people just use God to save face. People tell me I will go to hell. I thought ONLY god could make that decission?! People think athiest are evil...no not all of us. I dont steal or murder. I do what I can to be nice and respect those even if I dont believe in what they do. I do how ever get VERY angry when people try to tell me I m wrong for what I (I) believe in for MYSELF. I don't tell them not to believe in god and I will tell you why I stopped believeing if you ask. BUT I WILL NEVER TELL ANYONE WHAT IF ANY RELIGION TO BELIVE IN. I even help my mother in law get ideas and help with lesson plans for her sunday school she teaches. I am not a hypocrite when I do this...I am being supportive and helping. Yes I think God should not be on money...they say it is the root of all evil. Why put God on something so bad? But that is my OPINION and not a fact. Here is the way I live: If you are the president of the usa and you have van ice cream and choc ice cream in front of you and you dont like choc are you going to ban everyone from it and tell them they shoudnt eat it? NO...just dont eat the choc and let everyone who does like it eat it. Every one is happy.
I fear that I will get hate mail now or loose friends on here, but I mean no disprespect to any one no matter what they believe in , their view, or opinion. I just think all this fighting over religion is stupid and not needed. Be proud of what you believ in or dont believe in. I'm sure at least once all of you have came across someone that was mean about what you believed, so please don't judge me or think I am bad.

I have been told I'm evil because I stand up for myself.
Are Christians not supposed to stand up for themselves?
Am I supposed to let people run all over me because I am a Christian?
NO.
Does it make me evil? NO
If someone tells you that you are going to hell it's because they are only telling you what the bible says.
I believe what the bible says and it says that the only way to heaven is through His son Jesus.
I have accepted Jesus into my life.
Does it make me better than you? NO
I am just like you.
This is what i tell people.
I will continue to serve God the best that I can and I will continue to seek him wether or not the neighbor or the co-worker or the gatherer approves.
But if indeed the God that i serve does not exist then I have nothing to lose.
But if you're wrong and there is a God in heaven -- then you have your soul to lose.
Does that make sense?
Ultimately it's between you and God.
And all we are called to do is serve HIm and to go out and tell others about the love of Christ.
And it does offend some.
But what can we do? If I say I don't like chocolate I might offend someone anyway right?
I am a proud Pagan. I don't believe in a singular god nor in heaven.
So don't worry, I hear it all the time also from others who believe in the best fairy tale ever written, the bible.
I have been told I will go to hell, I just laugh it off because I don't believe in hell either. Satan is a christain diety.
What I believe in is older than christainity. It is what I am. I have never believed in the sanction of religion nor its churchs. The only time I will step inside of a church is if a pact of zombies are after me and I know there is good wine somewhere in the building.
But again, I am just a proud witch and have been our of the broom closet for years.
I NORMALLY DONT DICUSS RELIGION AND POLTICS.....
BUT YOU ARE MY FRIEND....BY THE WAY I HAVE THIS POLICS IF YOU ASK I WILL TELL YOU THE TRUTH....
Only you know what is right for you. I am a Christian and I know that I am in the right place for me, but my place cannot be your place, you have to find your own because I can't squeeze anyone into my place.
I respect your decision to be whom you choose to be and in turn expect you to respect my right not to be what you are.
That does not mean we cannot be friends, that I have to shove my beliefs down your throat, that I have to try to guilt or shame you into changing your mind.
Just be who and what makes you happy and allows you be at peace with yourself. If the time ever comes for that to change God will let you know, because only He knows, man cannot bring that change in or for you.
But if you're wrong and there is a God in heaven -- then you have your soul to lose.-Loving Life
I don't think covering your behind is a good reason to believe something.

In my religion we have a saying: When two people argue about religion they are both wrong.
Think about it, none of us knows, really knows, what the truth is: whether or not there is a God; what the nature of God may be; how the universe came to be; how we came to be; is there a reason for our existence? All those major questions are the ones that religion in all its forms addresses and the answers are not available to us. No matter how strongly we believe in whatever we happen to believe it, it remains belief only and not knowledge.
For me to criticize you for being an atheist would be to assume that I know something that I, in fact, have no way of knowing. Sure, I believe in God and I am firm in that belief and feel pretty sure that He does exist. This, however, is not knowledge.
I was raised as a Catholic but never believed in the Catholic Church's teaching, became an agnostic by the age of 13. For about fifteen years there after I was agnostic with strong atheistic leanings.
When I encountered the faith I later adopted I was surprised to find a faith that spoke to me so directly, that espoused basically all the things I had believed in my heart all along. Embracing that faith was a natural thing for me to do and I declared my belief more than 20 years ago. I know that I have been a better man, better husband and better father than I would have been but for my faith and I am glad for the transformations that it brought to my life.
But that is me and my experience and I cannot tell anyone else that they should or must follow it.
After all, if God Himself did not mandate religious belief (and surely the Creator of the universe could have arranged to make belief mandatory) then why should any human believer attempt to do so?
