Ginny's Non Video Diary Fasting update Days 9 - 13

Weight Lost: 29 pounds

Hi,

I was writing to a fellow fasting friend and then decided to share in the form of a non video diary with all my Gather friends here.

What is the longest you have gone on a straight water fast?

For me it was 6 or 7 days in 2001.

I did the same as you and used flavored waters like Crystal Light, Special K and South Beach for the first 8 days I think of this fast.

I then started thinking I was not losing weight as fast as I remembered so I switched to plain water on Monday. The next day (Tuesday) I lost 6 pounds and said yup that was the problem.

The next day (Wednesday) I lost only one pound and I thought ok maybe TOM which I started Sunday is catching up to me. In addition, the fact that I has not done my 22 mins. on the Gazelle.

I further compounded it by deciding to have some vegetable clear broth (which I was craving) and start skipping the decaf with creamer I was drinking (Which had more calories than the broth).

Today I had GAINED 7 pounds. UGH!! 

So this morning's goals were:

1. Go easy on myself until at least Saturday when TOM should be completely gone.
2. Do my 22 minutes on the Gazelle first thing in the A.M. before I touch my computer
3. Stick to clear water and go back to decaf/w non dairy creamer.
4. No broth until I am ending fast.
5. Not to end fast until 7 pounds below goal to allow for the 7 pounds which I will apparently immediately gain.

Also, I realized today that the weekend trip I have been referencing is the weekend starting with the date of the  27th.

So, I will be tentatively ending the fast on Thursday the 26th which will be my 27th day.
