Tonia, I loved this! There is a feel you get for a place that can only shine through from the hearts and minds of the people. The creativity and the art that you have captured here did that for me.
How unique. My favorite is the bird. Our bird is native to Australia. I would never tell the kids this, but it's name means "Good to Eat" in the Aboriginal tongue.
Thanks for sharing this. As a frequent business traveler, one of the most enjoyable things about walking around a city is encountering civic art like this. Had not seen these ones before but some of them are quite interesting.
Those are really neat, Tonia! I love it when I find things like this. A couple of weeks ago (almost) I went to Boston and found some enameled work in the Frog Pond playground...so cool! I haven't put those up yet. I don't know what I am waiting for!? Thanks for sharing.
How wonderful these images are! Like so many of the people here, I fell in love with Mr. Frog. Fat little body and toothpick legs, it reminds me of my Junebug. Her cast comes off at the end of March but she's learned to maneuver just fine with it. She now uses it to "thunk" the other dogs when she gets angry, but that's another story. Your 'walkabout' is bringing us such a plethora of delights. How will we ever repay you?!?
Cool! I loved them all, but the swimmer was my favorite . Can I assume there is no snow/ice/freezing weather there - that would wreak havoc with mosaics, wouldn't it?
