So far, yet almost destroyed, and as you know there is a huge push to not allow any more "progress" to be made, not just for AAs, but for any ordinary citizen.
Ok,
Usually I won't leave Gather to look at a blog, I prefer the voices of ordinary folks I find on Gather.
I will go look.
I have been shocked at the turn the so called "liberal" press has taken beginning about 1 week after the inauguration, in particular Newsweek magazine.
We cannot give up.
Without exception EVRY AM talk radio conservative is blastin anti-Obama drivel every day, all day.
Outright lies and nasty insinuations.
And we must let President Obama know we support him.
PS
I did ogo read the blog.
Congratulations, and contray to Mr. Holden's statement, not all of us are chicken.
I don't know how to respond to this. Our president has inherited a mess that only a miracle can straighten out and I believe in miracles, but Mr. Obama is going to catch the flack because he is the one in the hot seat right now. If it were the white canidate that had been elected it would all fall on him, but he wasn't elected and now because we have a black president you are saying we are blaming him more than we would blame a white president. I hope not.
I don't listen to Rush Limbaugh, he's not very nice, but it seems politics isn't very nice. The republican party doesn't seem to have any leaders right now. Their last appempts at winning an election were embarrassing.
Michael, I'm an American too and Mr. Obama is my President too. I don't have a 401K plan to lose but a lot of people do and they are mad because most of it is gone. Who can they blame? The one who is in the hot seat right now.....
Nice article Michael. God Bless America, despite ourselves.
I am sorry, I misunderstood your question re: Rap on Race --I just read the article and it is great. I took your question quite literally and independent from your article. Sorry!!
I enjoyed the familial interjection and the way personal stories tie things together. I will be more open in the future and better prepared.
