No flowers would dare peek out here. We had another 3 inches of snow and the temp is supposed to be around zero tonight with wind chills way below that.

At least you're getting glimpses of spring. Not a sign here yet...no plants popping up or bugs on the trees...no a single robin or geese flying back north. We've had a few warm days and some rain instead of snow, but we've still got a long ways to go.

Nice poem Elsie. Spring has arrived at lower elevations here. There have been daffodils in full bloom growing wild in certain places under oak trees. They grow with no help once people give them a good start. I guess gophers don't eat them. Closer to the coast there are a lot of flowers in bloom, especially those sown to grow alongside and in the dividing space along the freeways. There is a certain house on Lake Jennings Road where the owner has beautiful flowers for about 7 or 8 months out of the year. I have felt like stopping to knock on her/his door and thanking her/him for giving so much pleasure to passers by. My daughter says that would be a nutty thing to do.

We have robins, geese and also
the sand hills cranes are back!!
Haven't seen any flowers yet, but
it won't be long now........I am so
ready for spring....Seems to have
been a long dark winter.......Or maybe
that was just in my mind and heart??

Elsie, I like it. Just the mental image of the crocus is spring to me. Our dogwood tree is blooming right now. It just started, and what a thrill to see that today. Jonquils are up here and there, scattering in fields. That's always a beautiful sight. Very nice poem. Enjoy.
