When I first heard about this movie I thought it looked interesting. If nothing else, it's nice that they used Austrailian actors to portray Austrailians right? Nicole Kidman's character is very good. I love the way she comes in blazing at the beginning of the movie and she stays strong throughout the film. I was glad she didn't ever stop being a strong woman in a time period when women were not looked upon for strength.
Hugh Jackman also does a great job as a "Drover" - a person who drives cattle from point A to point B. He helps Mrs. Boss (Nicole Kidman) drive her cattle to town to sell it to the military (this takes place at the start of Americas entrance into World War II after the bombing at Pearl Harbor). The movie is about cattle ranching, aboriginal people, world war II, romance, heartbreak, and determination.
I graded it on yahoo movies at an A-. I really enjoyed this film. I would give it a star rating of 8 stars I think. I recommend everyone see this because it is a neat little part of history in a way for a fabulously mysterious country!
