Can I get pregnant while on the IUD???

I'm just curious, but recently spoke on here about having an IUD to prevent pregnant, but I'm having a few problems... I been having heartburn and vomiting non-stop, and that was one of my pregnancy symptoms with my oldest child, Gracee.

Is it possible to get pregnant while on the IUD? And will pregnancy show accurately, if I take a pregnancy test while on the IUD?

I have never had heartburn post pregnancy or while not pregnant. I'm not saying this is the only symptom contributing to pregnancy, but I haven't yet taken a pregnancy test.

I dont beleive there are any birth controls that are 100% effective so there is always a slight chance .

Sometimes we concentrate on it so hard we psych ourselves out and create symptoms we normally wouldnt have. but yes it is possible. I would recommend going to adr to get a blood test to see if you are pregnant or planned parenthood

It's possible yes and you really want to watch out for an ectopic pregnancy.

Any literature that you get when considering an IUD says it is not 100% effective.

Yes you can. The chances are low. I'd take a test. If it is negative talk with your DR.

The chances are low but if you think you might be I'd get tested right away. I have the Mirena IUD (and quite happy with it, I don't get periods) and one of the things they stressed to me was that if I did get pregnant, there was a high chance it would be an eptopic pregnancy which can be dangerous to the Mother.

In a nutshell. You can get pregnant using any type of birth control.

The only 100% effective way to prevent pregnancy is to not have sex.

Depending on the maker of your IUD they can still have hormones so depending on how your body reacts to those could explain some of your symptoms.

It can take 3 months for your body to get used to a new form of birth control.

As far as testing and results showing up.

If you are pregnant enough the test will be + if you are not pregnant the test will be -.

Yes you can I got preggres while I had the IUD and at 12wks had a miscarrige I didn't even know I thought I was having a really bad period cycle went to the ER and they confirm that I was preggers it was a crazy time

No method is 100 %. I would contact my doctor.
