The former vaudeville & movie house Fitzgerald Theater became the place to be this past Saturday night as a Minnesota Public Radio Family Movie Party was held to appreciate the tremendous support members have given to MPR over the past four decades. The evening began with an introduction by host and movie maven Stephanie Curtis and music by organist Mike Grandchamp accompanied the four Buster Keaton shorts showcased during the evening. Tom Keith the sound effects and character voices performer for A Prairie Home Companion joined in the fun. The four shorts highlighted were The Playhouse (1921), Cops (1922), Balloonatic (1923), One week (1920) and tap dance company Keane Sense of Rhythm also provided half time entertainment. This was fun and family friendly event thanks to MPR members who have made this and great public radio possible.
