I Won't Be Continuing As the Owner of Poetry Please.

It has become too difficult for me to properly keep up with the group given the challenges I am currently facing.  It is not fair to all of you who work so hard every week to submit such high quality work.

 

However, I see no reason to shut down Poetry Please.  If there is someone out there who would like to take over the group permanently, I've seen an article by Kevin (the sitewizard) on how to transfer actual ownership.   Please let me know as soon as possible so there is not a long delay between prompts. 

 

Thank you all so much for your support; for your beautiful, funny, sad, wonderful poetry; and for your understanding.  Bless you all.  I hope to see you around Gather.

Wish I had gotten well and moved quicker Tracey. The last two months have been very hectic since better, and moving back by myself again..I am sorry to go, and the next moderator, whom I know will be very good if you have anything to do with it, has some big shoes to fill. My computer goes on the outs for three weeks and I come back and find one of my favorite poetry sites may be going extinct. Tracey, thank you so much for all you did to make this a fun and challenging poetry site. I to wish you all the best and again thank you for your dedication to the Poetry Please challenge.

Tracey-you know I appreciate you and hope all goes well for you in the future. Will you be around Gather? Will you be doing NaNo next year? You were steadfast and always talented at Serialying, and though I didn't get many poems in to Poetry Please, I actually used the prompts to inspire and inform my own writing, though I usually didn't finish in time to enter the challenges. Anyway, whatever is going on in your life, I hope and pray it all works out. Thank you! Love you!

WHAT!!!!???? ~ Now Tracey ~ I think you maybe should just take a break. Maybe let one of your dedicated Members run this Group for a while if you need a break. But leave forever as Owner of this WONDERFUL POETIC Group ~ I think NOT -- ahahah! ~ but, I am oh so SERIOUS. Just take a break, maybe even let the Group be a Poetry Please Group where the Members just post their Poetry. How about that? Then you won't have to work so hard to keep up with this Group -- I know how it is ~ Lord knows I get behind on E V E R Y T H I N G.

I know how you feel. I have so many things on my plate, I don't really have time to moderate my groups like I want to, and so many great posts slip through my fingers. Wish you the best with your projects. I'm sure if there's a time in the future you wish to reboot the group, your members will be right there.

I hope that you are able to find somebody to fill your shoes. I have not been writing much lately, and with school, I could not hope to do this justice. I don't want to see the group fade away though. Let me know if you don't find anyone.

Tracey, as I have found out lately, life continues, and at times that means a sacrifice of something, and if it is computer time, then that is what it must be. I have not been able to participate as much lately as I would like, but I read, I keep topics to write on later, and I let myself be inspired by all that goes on here. I wish you all the best, Tracey. I thank you immensely for all your hard and dedicated work here. And I hope that all works out splendidly for you, in all aspects of your life.

I'm so sorry to hear this and I hope that things get better for you. I know where you're coming from (I think) as I'm behind on so many things, I've lost count. My groups? Moderate? Nope. No time. Too many things going on here for much of anything.

I'll leave you with words I grew up with - Mom and my aunt said them..."This too shall pass...

Tracey: I would like to express my deepest respect for you and all you've accomplished with this group. Thank you for the devotion and scholarly interchange with your members.
It has been one of the best experiences for myself, and, I'm sure, others as well. I am deeply saddened to hear of the intense challenges that are pressing in on you; however, I understand there are times when we must make decisions such as you have. You will be missed more than you could possibly understand at this time, but you will "always" be remembered as one of the most "inspirational" persons on Gather.

Thank you all so much for your heartfelt wishes. They mean so much. It makes it all the harder to go, but then, not so bad after all since I've made so many fine friends here. No one was inspired more in this group than me. Your work was wonderful every week. You surprised me, challenged me and made me crazy trying to work out tie-breakers- I didn't always succeed. It was always so hard posting that article and not being able to tell those who didn't win, just how close they were to the winners. No, I was definitely the one inspired and blessed by your continued participation. I dearly loved this group. I hope someone else will love it the way I do.

I do understand your dilemma and went through a similar thing when I stopped being a moderator for Gather Essentials: Writing. I hope you find another moderator. If not, I wouldn't mind sharing the task one week a month. Perhaps if there are others who feel the same way this most wonderful group will carry on.

Tracey - I've been on hiatus lately, and haven't submitted to any Gather groups, but I always enjoyed Poetry Please and had fun submitting my poems many times in the past. The best of everything to you. Life has a way of turning us upside down sometimes, but remember your hard work has been appreciated by many of us at Gather.
