No one who has ever had a whippoorwill outside their window all night will ever forget their name. Or feel romantic/warm and fuzzy about them. All night long... All night long!

The bird for which I feel the most animosity is the mockingbird. Particularly when one wants to demonstrate its entire repertoire from 1:00 to 1:45 in the morning.

My erstwhile spouse has several thistle-seed feeders hanging outside the backyard windows at house. According to her, every chickadee is named "Chuck"... because she greets each one as such. This confuses me, if only from the standpoint of reproduction issues...

Wait! By "reproduction issues" I meant, reproduction from the birds standpoint. I'm clear on the reproduction issues with my erstwhile spouse... we did have 3 children after all.
