Acrylic and Ink on Paper.
5 x 7 Inches
In late 2008 I began a daily painting routine. The idea was to do a painting each day, however I found that my nature is to work and rework things until I'm satisfied with what I've done. So on any one day i may work on several pieces and one may or may not be complete on that particular day. Getting the daily routine of painting going was the goal and I'm well into that. Now it is not necessarily a small painting like this, sometimes it's ATCs, Postcards, Altered books and other projects or even digital creations that I get to doing during this daily painting time. Often I work several times a day on a variety of things. This was the 31st small painting I did after starting the routine in late October 2008.

aloha and thank you G. Janny - i appreciate the positive support and effort you make - doing this piece was fun - and it continues to be fun to explore each time i return to it - i like that.
thank you Patricia - i'm honored that you consider this painting worth sharing! ok, that makes my day too. *grin*
i often do several pieces that are similar at the same time. i dont always show all of them. or show them all in one place... so in fact... i was noticing that i had not shown this particular piece anywhere... which is one of the reasons why i decided to post it here. ...so you are right again - it is actually new to almost all viewing audiences, right here as of a few days ago...
me too - that is i like the motion of the background a lot. in fact the way i see this piece is that in order to "see" or look at the foreground i have to "center" myself in the midst of all that spinning motion. then it goes by and i can watch the feather and so on. i like that feeling of "centered" a lot. ...ok and the layers - which i like to play with - the foreground becoming background and so on - and of course color! exploring how color works... well... that's one of the main components of painting, yes.
i like the way you see into this. it's always a treat when a viewer takes out of a painting a lot of what the artist wanted in it in the first place. thanks.
