Do you own a Kindle?

  I don't.  I was just reading about Stephen King's newest e book, UR.  I'd really like to read it, but do not own one and don't plan on buying one, no matter how much I love his work. I know, never say never, time will tell.

  I like to curl up with a book and turn the pages.  Guess, you can call me old fashioned, lol.

  I was just wondering how many here own one? 

   King's newest ebook, UR  is about a college English instructor whose pink Kindle allows him to access new books by famous dead authors as well as newspapers that tell of a future event that he is compelled to try to forestall.

Sounds great, but........

Personally i would rather have a real book. reading online is fine for news and stuff like gather, but for fiction i want pages and a cover..lol

I've done it both ways, sometimes I print things out and then read them in my free time. I like to read just before I fall asleep, and I've read King, but sometimes he is too gross.

I have an original Kindle. Pros: it's like carrying my bookshelf with me, plus newspapers, blogs, magazines, access to the web. I can read anywhere, I can read multiple books at a time. I like when the Kindle Fairy sends new stuff by magic wireless network. Cons: Like any book you cant read in the dark, easily corrected by a book light I found one made just for the kindle. Cons: Grayscale pictures, original has crummy battery life, Kindle2 said to be greatly improved.

KimB. Spoiler alert: The King story UR: If youve read or seen any twilight zone episode where somebody tries to change the future by going back to the past, except for the details, you've just read UR. and it was a novella..a long short story..

I love my Kindle2 but I love books as well. Kindle2, books are cheaper and can be downloaded instantly. But I do miss books sometimes. So if Iread a book that I really like on my Kindle2 or my favorite authors come out with new books, I purchase those anyway.

BTW, love your Jack Russell pic!! I have a jack and she is the love of my life.

I think the Kindles are far too expensive and actually prefer holding my book in my hands.......there's just too much technology around.......I don't want actual books to ever go away!

check the libarary, our will find it somewhere and get it if i want a certain book... Seems like they could find one..

Maybe some day in the far away future. But like you, I'd rather read a paper book and turn pages. When they come with audio, I'll seriously consider it, since my eyes are getting worse all the time.

Beveryly, the Kindle2 has text to speech, but mixed reviews. audible.com & my library has a GREAT selection of books on tape..

I've seen them advertised but they just don't do anything for me at all. I like to share books with others but I don't loan out my electronics.

Kindle 2 seems to be a big improvement over the first generation. I will get one, even though I like old fashion reading too. What I like best about Kindle 2 is the unlimited access to Wikipedia and built in dictionary.

Stephen King's UR is for Kindle only. It costs less than $5 if my memory is not completely useless.
