- I was born in Modesto, CA on February 10, 1950.
- After we moved to Hawaii, I swam in Waikiki Bay everyday.
- In the Mexico, City Olympics in 1968 I won two gold medals.
- In the Munich Olympics of 1972 I won seven gold medals. A record that was only just broken by Michael Phelps.
- I always wanted to be a dentist but skipped out of going to dental school and tried to make a career in Hollywood as an actor... but I flopped.
- A poster of me (above) in my gold medals was the best selling pin-up since Betty Grable.
- I made $7 million in endorsements but that dried up. Today I am a stock broker, and motivational speaker.
