i had 2 penpals i high school...1 from france and one from turkey. the latter on i kept in touch with up until my marriage,, i recived a congratuation note and never heard from him after thay. i still think of him from time to time hoping he is ok and happy.

I had a penpal project in jr. high. My grandparents were driving to a large city to do some business, so I put my name and address in several balloons and sent those with them. As they were driving around in a neighborhood they let a balloon out, then drove some more and let another balloon out. They did that until all the balloons were gone. Out about 6 balloons (can't remember exactly), I got one response. We wrote to each other for many many years after that. Somehow we lost track of one another.
