When you turn the rating off does it affect your points?

Just wondering because I am getting sick of this freakin troll...

Nope! Because you only get points for unique views! That's it!

Unique defined as the first time you view something. Multiple views one the same content only count as one view.

That's why I don't turn my points on any more. The trolls still see my posts, but can't low rate me. Tee Hee!

Teresa answered you pretty well. There's something to consider, though. If they can't rate, they may go away faster. Which is fewer views. So some of us leave them on anyway just so the silly little troll feels like they have a reason to keep giving us those views. ;)

Also, I've been testing the unique views concept a little, for my own curiosity. Coming back the next day does seem to count as another view.

No, Robin, that point has been clarified. A rating of 1 is worth just as much as a rating of 10.

Ratings do not affect your points directly, unless you accumulate enough '10s' to be eligible to appear on the "Highest Rated" listings. This may garner you additional exposure in the community...leading to a few more points (perhaps).

However, low ratings can actually end up hurting you in the community, and outside of it, so I always recommend turning them off.
