I was reading Pam Johnston's post How Did My 'Adam Carolla Fired' Story Get So Many Page Views? when I got curious about my own page view numbers. Pam's article, at the time, had over 8,000 views. I was certain that none of mine had that many, but I never really noticed my top post.
So I went exploring. There on my page of posts was a drop-down menu for organizing those posts. The default is "recent posts" and I don't think I've ever explored beyond that. But after reading Pam's post I did.
Wow. I have one post with 2200 page views. And one with 1661 and one with 1529. Of course, I didn't get all of those views in just a few days like Pam did with her Adam Carolla story. Still, it's interesting to see what caught the interest of the most people.
Know what it was? The one with 2200 page views?

Cool, huh?
So what has gotten the most page views on your pages? And how many? An inquiring mind - mine - wants to know.

July 20, 2008 10:37 PM EDT -- I've been wanting to cover up an old home-made tattoo that I have on my forearm. I almost had it done in Costa Rica, but ran out of time. Now I am thinking about wanting to have it done in Minnesota .
Wow, check out those views! Great topic Priscilla. I can just imagine those 20,000 people searching Google when they're trying to figure out what to do with their old tattoos.

I like to see the most comments rather than most views I think, it tells me people were actually interested in what they saw.
I have a photo with 147 views and 120 comments, that's pretty good, almost everyone commented.
I came up with some interesting results Marilyn. Thanks for the prompt. My top post is this one:

Looks like Chris E. were on the same page on that one!
The one I mentioned in my post now has 3899 views. Wouldn't it be great if we could duplicate whatever we did on the highest posts? We'd be rolling in points. :)
And here's a trippy one, with 1,690 views but only 10 votes and 17 comments (four of which are mine):
My most viewed post is a question about Freebie Force. At least one comment was from someone who joined just to comment on it (I didn't check to see if they contributed any more to the community). Unfortunately a few people who were members insist on sharing their referral links (rude- I didn't ask for them).
That post had 525 views. My next highest is just under 300 views and is about cockroaches. Ewww!
I think the most was just over 100
I really was suprised to look today and see that my highest post - the one I mentioned above - now has 3899. Weird.
Excellent progress Marilyn. I'd tell you to "keep it up," but it seems like the equasion for views is a bit evasive. Yes, the topic of your post is evidently hot in the search terms right now. Half the battle, however, is being the first to the punch. By the time you write to the most popular terms the interest may very well have already faded. So keep on writing with your gut Marilyn!
My best is only 1,164 views. I'm trying to figure out how to get more views and am doing research on SEO stuff. That's how I found your article here.
