I intended to write today about how March is my favorite month because it has our anniversary (the 4th,) St. Patrick's Day, and my birthday (the 21st,) and because if we ever get snow in Georgia, we usually get it in March.
Well, this morning at 10 am, we got to Emerson UU and it was 40 degrees and raining. A little over an hour later, my son called as I was talking to a friend about the subject of the sad post I'll make it in a minute, and my son called and said, "Look outside! It's the most snow I've ever seen in Georgia." My reaction was that he was kidding, but I looked outside and sure enough, there was a solid sheet of snow coming down!
I could hardly believe it! The grandkids were at his house, and their mom was coming to get them, so we rushed over to see them for a little bit, and by the time we made the 20 minute trip, the snow was already sticking everywhere. An hour later, when we headed for home, yards were already blanketed with a couple of inches of snow. This is not the norm for us! It usually takes about a day to get a couple of inches.
It is still coming down like crazy and the forecast calls for up to 5 inches!
I've been saying"snow, snow, snow," all winter, and it waited until the first day of March to get here!
I LOVE snow! I love the way it jolts everything out of the ordinary, and the way it transforms the way the world looks, and just the sheer drama of it. Of course, it's dangerous and I hope that everyone who needs shelter finds shelter, but still..I LOVE snow!

It's funny that you mention March as a snow month. The last time we saw snow in Georgia was a camping trip to Pine Mountain last March! Odd.
I would gladly trade.
I am still waiting for winter so feel free to send
it to So Calif.
