In honor of Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday, my son's first grade class all wrote essays entitled "I Have A Dream." His essay won in his class, and I thought I'd share it.
JACOB HAS A DREAM
I have a dream.
My dream is that everyone will be healthy.
This is my dream because a lot of people can get sick.
I will make this dream happen.
First, I will become a doctor.
Then I will help anyone.
This is my dream.
I know I'm his mom, but I was impressed, especially by the fourth line. It made me realize, not for the first time, that we make our own dreams happen. If we sit around and wait, more than likely it won't happen. A good reminder, at least for me.
