I remember Mom said that to me, and my ears heard it as "Beware the Eyes of March!"
So I went around looking at eyes, and saw eyes in everything, and I was wary.
ACTUALLY, it's "ides" - ha ha
Ides means halfway in, and is applied to the month.
The Ides of March (Latin: Idus Martias) is the name of the date 15 March in the Roman calendar. The term ides was used for the 15th day of the months of March, May, July, and October, and the 13th day of the other eight months. In Roman times, the Ides of March was a festive day dedicated to the god Mars and a military parade was usually held.
In modern times, the term Ides of March is best known as the date that Julius Caesar was assassinated, in 44 BC.

(or did you)
My daughter, for a long time, sang "Don't Cry for Me, I'm Just Tina", instead of "Don't Cry for Me, Argentina"...............smile
Did I mention "creative", too? No? Well, I SHOULD have! LOL!
Your "Eyes of March" thing reminds me of my "twilight double-header" thing... When I was a kid and heard someone mention that there was going to be a "twilight double-header" that evening, it would conjure up some kind of dinosaur thingy with two heads in my adolescent mind...
Scary!
ROFL!
Blessings and best wishes - S.
(Grade A Turkeys) - I heard that somewhere, as a joke, a long time ago. Can't remember where...
