Yesturday for my birthday my husband sent me to the spa for the day.
I must say it was interesting.
First off, nobody really tells you what to expect. they give you a bag, with a robe and sandles and send you to the changing room. So do you get naked all the way? Or do you leave panties on? I had no idea, but figured since I was beeing sent for my birthday I should probibly get down to my bday suit. Once I was all set I was sent for my full body scrubbing.
My entire body, (except boob, butt and v area's) were scrubbed down with sea salt.. Ahhhh, it felt SOOOOO good, next was the rinse. Nothing special about a rinse, just a pretty shower:)
After that I was sent to a steam room, that had waterfalls running down the back walls, and a rainforest shower. I was treated with fruit and champaign.
Next was my body massage. She used the hot stones which felt really cool, but as for the massage go's, she could have gone a little deeper. I walked out of the room with a kink in my neck and my hand all cramped up... I should have asked her to work those areas out.
Next was eyebrows. I have NEVER in my life had someone else work on my brows, I have never been to a salon and had them waxed, so I was a bit uneasy about the whole process. The waxing was not as painfull as I expected, and to be compleatly honest I cant even see a difference in them. Once she was done with my brows I was sent in for a facial.
Facials are weird. I was a bit uncomportable about someone else poping black heads on my face, and then trying to get me to buy acne treatment to "rid my breakouts".. Please... I am a stay at home mother of 2 toddlers, do you really think I care so much about my breakouts to drop 50 or so bucks on facial clensers...please! But I very politly told her I wasnt interested in it, and that I would take whatever my package provided, nothing more.
With my face all fresh and clean, skin tightened, I was sent to enjoy my champaign lunch. In a medium size room, modernly decorated I enjoyed a chicken salad, and a nice cold glass of lemon water.
As soon as i finnished A lady picked me up to go get my nails done.
Again, I have never had my toes or fingers worked on by someone else before. The lady kinda gave me a weird look when I had told her this was my first time. (What like i am some kind of animal?!) She used some really fancy words for lotion that I just didnt understand, but in the end my feet and hands look beautiful, soft, clean and pretty:)
My package also came with a makeup application, but I chose not to have it done, so they gave me a pass to come back and do it at some other time.
SO overall my day at the spa.. it was rather interesting, I feel really good. I wish they would have been a little more sociable, and told me exactly what they were doing to me. I wish i would have gotten the names of the stuff they used on me, and I wish that the waiting time between sessions would have been shorter.
Was it worth the price my husband payed? Absoultly NOT!
But I am thrilled that I have finally had a chance to enjoy the spa for the day..
My hubby totally rocks!!!
