Is it better to organize your photos?

I have noticed that my photos are accumulating quite quickly and I am wondering if it is better to organize them into albums.  Do most people here organize their photos into albums and if so, how do you organize them?  For example, I have four children..would it be better to create an album for each child?  Do people seem to like albums better than random photos?

I have mine organized,.

I have one for my daughter, one for my son and another for photos of them taken together!

I also have several other albums for different categories!

I have mine organized, but that's mainly because I got bored one day. Sometimes it's nice to just find random pictures, other times I like organization.

No im not very organized:( I have no albums I guess maybe I should do some time. I wouldnt even know where to start or what photos to put where..Lol good luck with you if you decide to organize them:)

Mine are orginized as well. I find it easier ...when i want to show someone a photo here at home..often times I will login to Gather and go to the album....rather than search for it on my computer.

I organized mine, but the downside is many groups won't allow albums and when you put them into the album it pulls them from the groups the individual photo was originally in.

I add albums after the pictures have been published here for a few months. Then I try to orgainize them by theme.

I have only one album and the rest are unorganized. I like viewing random pictures sometimes it is easier. Maybe someday I will organize my photos but I am in no hurry.

I have been organizing mine after they have been up for a while. Some groups don't allow albums because they don't want to go through hundreds of photos at a sitting.

I don't use albums...and I don't look at them, either, when I can see most of the photos from a preview. No one gets page views or points from me with albums; only individual pictures.

It is very rare that I look at an album. I prefer to go down a page of a persons photos and view them that way or view them as they come through my feeds. I don't use albums here. I am not going to make people search through my albums to find new photos I posted.

Mine are organized. I do think though that you will get more views if you only add a few at a time. A whole album of 15 - 20 pictures people look at a few and stop.

I have organized a lot of my photos into albums, IT is much easier to find something that way especially when you have tons of photos. But I don't put them into albums until they have been up for awile. And if I want something in an particular album viewed I just spotlight it and people who view my profile see the spotlighted photo, then I put something else from an album that way views on my older content still gets some views.

I look at albums now because I have discovered it is quiker to view by clciking on each photo in the little film stip like thing then going down someones pages of photos, so I actually rack up more points by looking at albums.

THanks for everyone's input. It really helps. I think I may just keep them out of albums right now. so you don't get points for looking at albums here?? Don't think I knew that. I enjoy looking at people's pics whether they are in albums or now.

Did someone say you don't get points for looking at albums? Is that true? I have not read that it is true.

I do think it MIGHT be true, however, but not neccessarily.

Points are calculated from views. A view happens when you look at the page.

Looking at an album, well I can see how it might not count as looking at each page, because it still is in the album and on on the individual page, unless you comment on that.

I haven't put them into albums here, and I think I may have looked at a grand total of two albums since the upgrade involving them. I like to go into groups and randomly flip through photos (so to speak.) I like to do the same for my connections and the albums just make it hard.

And I really like to view them in albums, because it counts how many photos you view

I have some in albums, but haven't been including them in albums as I post more recently. I think i get more views when they are all out there to see, You open an album and you are in for making a lot of comments!

Sarah, I started my first two albums just a short while ago and have been considering organizing all my random photos into albums.....I too would be interested in know how to do it.....If I have to start over with each photo or if I can drag the existing random photos into a specific album....

Because of the issue it creates for group owners, I don't use albums.

I prefer albums so I can stay on topic, if you have tons of pics of the kids I would od a separate album for each one and another for the ones of more than one kid in each pic.
