Group summary notifications

yes i am having a hard time with this and in one nite i had over 1000 post with all of my groups set this way and i am so far behind because of it

Turn them off, except for one group. You won't miss much. If you had 500 friends, and they all belonged to the same 50 groups, you haven't gained any readership anyhow.

Yeah, I turn them all off. I only visit and comment to friends that visit and comment to me. For those that comment and visit me from other groups, if they become friends with me, then I'll add them as a friend and will just keep on adding more posts. I won't waste a lot of time with people that don't support me. I add a lot of "friends" during the week, but it seems that all a lot of people want to do is just email you every time they have a new post. If I wanted to know when someone posts a new post, I'll subscribe to their posts to send me a email. When I first started with Gather, I didn't realize what I should or should not subscribe too. Boy did I learn that was a mistake. So I turned them all off, and when I am on my home gather page, I'll scroll through what my friends or groups or interests have posted and respond accordingly, then I'll select a few of my friends and leave them several random comments. But I learned from a good friend that it's best not to leave the same comment. So I'm changing that aspect, but will comment of a few good friends Gather sites.

I am not sure what you are saying, because when I post to groups it just goes through when no pop-ups.

I just set it so that I only get notifications from certain groups. That way it's limited to just a small mountain of emails instead of a huge amount.

I used to have them too.It took over my box so i had to reset my page.Now i just get into gather and click on all my friends' profile,hopefully i get through all of them and post my comments.

It makes me feel as if i am working so i like it that way.

I only get group notifications for a few groups and I think I may have to change those. I like the idea of visiting the groups and setting it this way encouraged me to check out the groups more but my inbox is overflowing. It is difficult to keep up and there are lots of repeat posts.

I just mass delete. I can pick one email out of 10 groups. Most of the people I have turned off for when they post. I just click on their names when I see the comment or post on my page events.

I like following some comments, but the notes of the pings going back and forth are a bother. It doesn't take long to flag some posts to go back to, even with over 100 posts a day.

I know I leave many comments.
