President Obama has submitted his budget plan to Congress. The summary plan is a prelude to the complete budget package which will be finalized in April and prepare the way for the next fiscal year beginning in October.
The Washington Post described the budget as follows:
"President Obama delivered to Congress yesterday a $3.6 trillion spending plan that would finance vast new investments in health care, energy independence and education by raising taxes on the oil and gas industry, hedge fund managers, multinational corporations and nearly 3 million of the nation's top earners."
This year's budget deficit will reach $1.75 trillion while next year's deficit is predicted to be $1.2 trillion.

Where will it end
Besides, Congress will have a lot to say about the budget it passes. This is just what Obama will be asking for. Nice of him to warn us, don't you think? I can't remember such warnings and honesty in any previous Administration. I think that honesty is one of the "changes" he proposed.
The problem is welfare recipients are making a lifestyle of being recipients. If you get welfare you should have to perform work for the government such as janitorial service, this would reduce the cost the government pays for this service already making welfare more of a wash. It is also important that anyone receiving either welfare or unemployment should be drug tested. You fail no more free money.
With all the refinanced loans taking advantage of the equity built, I'm not surprised that many lost out when the bubble lost some gas and house values tanked, but is it really the fault of those who bought in on the overvalued homes and now find themselves lost on a variable rate, or even upside-down mortgage?
Too many are blaming those who only wanted their piece of the American Dream. The King shouldn't own the game in the woods, even in Knottingham.
Other than that, those who criticize the government making the investments and spending the money I believe are just plain foolish. At least Obama is honest and actually does the budget math with Defense costs taken into account. Now I pray they'll put their best efforts towards bringing the troops that are away from their families on extended tours home.
Publicless, you just can't resist a lie, can you, lol? Robin hood also robbed from the rich, to help the poor, whether in history, or in the myth of him.
Ron at least you admit that Obama is behaving like a thief.
MDP, You can't expect welfare recipients to clean parks or cop cars. And to expect them to pass a drug test is tyical mean conservatism!
