There I was walking up and down the aisle at the movie store trying to figure out what the heck I wanted to rent.
I love to cuddle up on the couch with frozen pizza and my lover and watch a movie. It doesn't happen nearly enough.
It's hard for us to pick out a movie that we will both enjoy though. I like comedys and dramas and he likes action and horror.
There is one thing we can both agree on though and that is Angelina Jolie. Now I know there are those of you who don't like her you don't need to tell me. But the two of us enjoy her and her work.
She plays a part in the recently release movie "WANTED", so of course this is what I rented. Now even though I like her I wasn't truly looking forward to the movie as the back cover described it as an action movie. Lots of guns and blood.
I took it home and from the instant I hit play I was completely captivated.
The plot centers around a young man who hates his life. He is scared of everyone and everything. He cannot find it within himself to stand up to the people around him who are constantly putting him down and taking advantage of him.
One day while filling a prescription at the local pharmacy he finds himself being watched. When he turns back to the counter there stands Angelina Jolie and the shooting begins. There are some pretty incredible chase scenes and lots of bullets flying.
The young man wakes up in an abandoned warehouse in the company of a group of assaisins who explain to him that his father was one of the greatest assaisins they had ever known and that he had been killed recently leaving everything to his son. They tell him that he possess the same skills that made his father so great and they want him to join the group, which they call "The Fraternity"
The young man tries to return to his miserable life, but finds it impossible.
You journey with him through his assassin training along with learning the history of "The Fraternity".
I don't want to give away much more, hopefully I gave you enough to interest you in renting the movie.
Be warned there is a good amount of killing in this film so put the kids to bed first. If you like action and suspense movies this is right up your alley. If you don't, try this movie anyway, you may find yourself pleasantly surprised as I did.
