Management in Education

Education and Management go together. In fact they are vital components of a larger field called learning.

Management and teaching are yet again two together. In a college of education these are the most important elements.

Joining a college of education as part of management was a challenge, as part of faculty it was annoying and disappointing.

The two aspects that I shared, namely teaching and management revealed the various related troubling areas that reqired attention.

Getting the black or the whiteboard, the multi media, the papers, the syllabi course outline and a cup of tea during break, were the main items.

Availability of the Classroom was a daily matter of concern.

Two large halls library three lawns a large driveway and a reasonable flag area yet there was a shortage of rooms for study lectures.

I wondered what literature we would study ?

Educational management is a subject which needs great attention in my country where in my experience there is haphazard learning, a large curriculum at primary and secondary and almost no related objectives in focus.

When the Millenium Development Goals have been set what are we really doing to achieve them?

I think we should start a free lesson class for those who cannot afford education and that should be inside the formal institution.

I am now working on the idea and I believe it can be implemented.

When I see the tyres burning and the shops closed and the roads blocked I feel we are losing our senses of the right way in the world.

What loss ruin and destruction are we causing to our land people and spirits?

Can we think, think again before it is too late?
