yesterday we used the Gumbo - mix from Zatarain's, i prepare mine a little different then the pagacke suggests
i cut up half an onion, dice it real fine, dice 1 glove of Garlic and fry them for one minute in 2 tablespoons of olive oil, then i add the Gumbo - mix and 6 cups of water, and let it cook a little, i cut up some smoked Turkey sausage and add it.
While the gumbo cooks, i cut up 2 chickenbreast and cook those in chickenbroth, when they are done, i add them to my Gumbo, when the Gumbo is about ready i add 1 cup of frozen Okra, and let it simmer for 6 more minutes.
the Zatarain's Gumbo mix is really easy to prepare and tastes great, it is a little spicey, so i would not feed it to my daughter.

I give this Gumbo - mix 10 stars, easy to prepare, only 25 minutes until its one the table and tastes great!!!!!
