My son's zipper broke on his coat last week, and money was a bit tight because we have had a lot going on the last couple of weeks. He needed a coat to wear to school and he needed it in a couple of hours. So I decided to go to the local thrift store and see if they had any decent winter coats for him there.
They had clothes %50 off that day. I found a cute little Chicago Bulls coat in his size, it looks barely used, and the zippers worked fine. It had a $3.00 tag on it, but I got it for $1.50 because of the sale.
I also needed to get a couple of shot glasses for the bachelor and bachelorette parties. I don't really drink, so I didn't have any laying around the house anywhere. I managed to get 4 of them. They ranged from .10 to .25 each.
They also had some plastic wear in baggies. I got a huge bag full of plastic forks and spoons for .50, they also came in handy for both parties.
Before I left I saw some pretty little punch cups. I have a couple of punch bowls, but after 19 years of marriage not all of the cups have made it through the moves and daily life over the years, I also thought they would be nice to use at the bachelorette party.

I actually ended up making Jello shots and putting them in the little punch cups, it worked out well, since the jello shots had to be made ahead of time and transported. I made a ice bath in a deep pan, and carried the pan on a big cutting board, to make it easy to carry and to keep firmly on my front seat as I drove. I also covered them with foil.

The punch cups cost me just $3.00 total for 12 of them.
So for under $6.00 I walked out with all kinds of goodies.
If you want my recipe for the Jello shots, which are a little less strong then other recipes I have seen you can find it here:
