Last week she was ordered to pay back taxes. Yes, it's not only Daschle and Geithner. Sarah Palin did not pay her taxes. Call her a tax cheat, if you consider Githner and Daschle to have attempted to evade taxes.
Now, Sarah must reimburse her state approximately $7,000 for unnecessary travel expenses involving nine trips taken by her children. Here are the expenses.
- Bristol's trip to see "Beauty and the Beast" at the Valley Performing Arts Center
- Piper and Bristol's trip to Juneau for the State of the State address
- Piper's trip to see her dad race in the Iron Dog snow machine race and attend the the Alaska Outdoor Council Banquet
Wonder what Joe the Plumber thinks of this. This is Fiscal Responsibility (FR)? Is this what the GOP means by FR? Cutting spending?
If you were caught doing this during a business trip you would be fired. People get fired for far less than this in the private sector. She was trying to stimulate the economy last year. She could see that government needed to spend money way back then and Bush would not do it.
The hyprocrisy and chutzpah of these folks.

That said, I cannot find, in the platform of any party, save the Nazi manifesto any mention of TAX CHEATING as being a goal of the rank and file or leadership. And the Nazi position is POOR PEOPLE HAVE TO PAY rich people. Not vice versa. That might not be a quote, but it is the proposal.
In any event, CROOKS caught by Cops, shed their party affiliation, and become first suspects, then defendants, and on conviction, CONVICTS. Thus it should be, and thus should be our goal.
Still and all, as a Democrat, I take great delight in giving the Republicans the Bronx Cheer for their selection of Sara Palin for the position of President-in-waiting under McCain. And they did pick her, and her out-of-wedlock pregnant daughter, and her TRAITOR husband, and probably the family dog to be Vice-President and"Second Family" this past year.

Btw, what specifically did the treasury sec. do that was illegal? As I understood, his accountant failed to include FICA when he paid what he thought was a contracted employee. When he learned of the error, he paid the taxes in full. Maybe I missed something. Whatcha got, big guy? Let's see the criminal indictments, shall we?
First off he did his own taxes. He was working as an idependent contractor so he had to pay self-employment taxes (he even signed a statement that said he understood that). He never payed self-employment taxes and when he got caught he only paid what has covered by the statute of limitations. Even in the vetting process when it was brought up he refused to pay what he could not be legally required to do.

The statute of limitations were over so he was not prosecuted but he still never paid the taxes he owed.

It is nice to see you only care when it is people you disagree with that do things wrong. At least Palin is paying back what is a mistake. Not like someone who purposely avoids taxes.
