Tapped by the Republican party to deliver the GOP's response to President Barack Obama's congressional address Tuesday night, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal took on the massive stimulus package and big government -- and pledged that his party would regain the nation's trust.
"In the end, it comes down to an honest and fundamental disagreement about the proper role of government," Jindal said. "We oppose the national Democratic view that says the way to strengthen our country is to increase dependence on government. We believe the way to strengthen our country is to restrain spending in Washington, to empower individuals and small businesses to grow our economy and create jobs.
"In recent years, these distinctions in philosophy became less clear -- our party got away from its principles. Tonight, on behalf of our leaders in Congress and my fellow Republican governors, I say this: Our party is determined to regain your trust," Jindal said.
Obama, in his first speech to a joint session of Congress, largely focused on the $787 stimulus and thanked Congress for passing his economic recovery package, which he said will save or create 3.5 million jobs and give a tax cut to 95 percent of working families.
These crime dogs like Jindal will never be anything but hypocritical GOP slaves to a philophy that never changes and will never do anything but try to keep America in huge government and debt. They do nothing but talk their hypocrasy and spread ill will through the government.
These attack dogs destroyed the economy for the second time in less than 100 years and will do it again if the public fails to remember the lessons they have just learned about trusting political hacks that have no concern for anything but their own bank accouints and thoes of their crony friends.
These GOP hacks thing its wrong for the public to get something back for the taxes they so unfairly pay while their rich crony friends go tax free and their business partners take our tax money to increase their own salaries and rent private resorts for their private parties.
Jindal has been a vocal critic of the stimulus package, highlighting what he considers waste at a White House meeting with governors on Monday and in his speech Tuesday. He noted $300 million to buy new government cars, $8 billion for high-speed rail projects and $140 million "for something called 'volcano monitoring.' "
This hypocrite Jindal was all for corporate welfare when Bush waas throwing money out the window like garbage to GOP cronies.
The public needs to remember that a real learder like Obama comes along about ones every century while the GOP hacks are always with us and we need leaders like Obama to get rid of the corporate big government set up by the GOP neocons and their plan to steal the wealth of other countries in their blood for oil wars.

Someone, I think you, mentioned in a different article that Jindal POINTED TO KATRINA'S AFTERMATH AS AN EXCELLENT EXAMPLE OF GOP RESPONSE TO THE NEEDS OF THE PEOPLE. At that moment, early in his raving lunatic rant, I realized I was listening to a raving lunatic rant. Perhaps I am exaggerating the lunacy, or the raving, of the rant, but I THINK NOT. Mr Jindal is living very close to Egypt's great river, denial.
I also think for all his rehetric Jindal has no chance to keep this frderal money from the public, he does not have any say in federal business.
They're still using "Tax and Spend Democrats" after 8 years of Borrow and Spend. They rant and rave when Bush's appointees aren't approved instantly, then hold up cabinet nominees (and with Clinton, judgeships) as a matter of course. Some of the judicial posts Clinton tried to fill were held up until he was out of office - and Bush lost no time putting his incompetent neocons in those positions.
Jindal is only trying to turn down the unemployment money - because, thanks to Katrina, unemployment is low in Louisiana. The rest of it he's taking - and hoping the downturn doesn't hit LA job markets. Which it will, of course.
One guy here on Gather was actually citing money for levies as pork!
I can't believe they can do this stuff without blushing. Amazing.
The GOP has no use for real history, they play the denial game for their own hypocritical reasons. Republicans calling themselves conservative is as hypocritical as when they call themselves Christians.
You can't insult a con artist because they do not have any moral values to insult.
