Silence
The voices have quieted, I'm full of silence
It should be peaceful, instead, I'm quite disturbed
Scenes once vividly expressed, emotions so deeply invoked
reduced to whispers too faint, too muffled to discern
Only sounds of hollow echo in my head, a maddening roar
leaving rails of blankness to cover my dejected countenance
I perceive I'm far removed from my familiar lair of inspiration
laid roundly to a dreadful place of emptiness and darkness
Where rhymes are derailed from their melodic tracks
Muses stripped naked and showered in iced baths
Imagery ripped apart and gobbled up with disdain
Metaphors and analogies are hunted down like rabid animals
Devoured by the vision snatchers who lay in wait for the
next conception of thought, that they might viciously abort
Ideas shutter in fear and scatter just out of reach of my pen
Feeling my doom, my voice screams out a piercing Silence
I wish good writes to all my friends, always.
