ChaCha is a texting service that answers questions via text messaging. You don't have to use a cell phone to work for them. Everything is done directly from the computer. Try texting a question to 242242 to find out how ChaCha works first hand.
Then, check out http://becomeaguide.chacha.com to register to become a ChaCha guide. You have to take a short test, I think, and then go through a brief training period.
