True friend...

Many people say they have many friends, But what is a true friend? I have a true friend, he has been my friend for the past 18 years and is also one of my gather friends. He is Ron H. . Someone who has always been willing to get up in the middle of the night when I need help, who I always think of to have over during the holidays because his family is not near. He came over tonight after a full day at work and helped me move my back porch to the front of my home, because I will be building a new deck in the next week or so. That was so much appreciated....Give him a shout for me, or even a friend request...Do you have a true friend? Hope so.....

that is wonderful that ron is a true friend and yes i have been blessed to have a true friend or should i say friends I have never had a true friend until i joined gather and another site i have met not one but several wonderful people but i have found two if the most wonderful friends SANDI and sarah p the have been a god send to me I love them both dearly and they know why I dont think I will ever be able to show those two the love that they deserve I have ron on my friend list I am going to go give him a ping

That was nice of him! =) I also have a true best friend, we met when we were 5 years old. We talk every week, but have not seen each other in over 20 years. Through out the years, we have always stayed close even so, and have helped each other via long distance =)

True friends are hard to find. I am also blessed with a best friend who is more like a sister to me than my own. It's like that Tracy Lawrence song- "You find out who your friends are" with my friend Sheila. She doesn't have a computer, so she hasn't been introduced to Gather. Thanks for the post.

true friendship is a cheerished stone in the rough.. my friend who I love here lika a sis lives in Ga and she been here with me for over 40 yrs this make me old we known each other almost all our lives

That is great. It is nice to know you have someone you can count on. I have a lot of friends, a few good friends, but outside of my husband, one best friend. When ever I am in the hospital/nursing home she tries to visit everyday. She is so supportive she has told me anytime night or day to give her a call if I need to talk to someone. That is a friend, someone who really really cares. Not many of them around so you are very blessed!

I have a friend who I have known now 50 years.......we met when I was 5 years old........we don't talk everyday, as our lives have taken us down separate paths, but if I need her she is there, and vice versa......hard to believe we have been friends that long...........

I am lucky to have three true friends. I've known two of them for over 50 years and the third one for over 30 years......they are the ones I can call any time day or night and they will answer!

Not really, I've sort of shut myself off from most people other than for short periods of time. I have folks that I talk to, but nobody that I would ask to do anything major.

You are lucky to have someone like that in your life. My best friend lives in a different state, so I don't get to see her very often, but we've been friends since grade school. I always know that I can count on her in a pinch. I wouldn't trade her for a thousand other aquaintances who live much closer.

You are truly lucky to have a true friend that you can count on!!! My best friend and I have been friends for 43 years now and even though she has lived in Australia for at least 30 of those we are closer than ever!!! I have even been able to go over there to visit her twice and she has come back to see me several times!!! I am soooo lucky!!! =0)
