We went to see The Tale of Desperaux today at the discount theater, with our friends Brian and Veronica. All four of us really enjoyed it.
The tale of the brave mouse, Desperaux, has lots of great messages for kids (and grownups.) What happens when a little mouse refuses to be taught to be afraid? What if he refuses to eat the books, and reads them instead? Desperaux decides to be a gentleman of courage, loyalty, and honor, and sets out to save a princess. He and his friend, Roscuro, a rat who caused a huge disaster by accident, learn important lessons about forgiveness, and manage to change the fortunes of two princesses in the process.
With a voice cast including Matthew Broderick, Dustin Hoffman, Tracey Ullman, Frank Langella, Robbie Coltrane, and Sigourney Weaver, this is a great movie for kids that adults will enjoy, too!
