Sure, I had good times
Now and then
Who doesn't
With or without men
Or their funny ways
And presumptions?
And the way
They look at you
As if you were something
Just to gaze at
And dream about
In dirty minds.
Sure, I had my share
Of oddities
The type who think
You're just there
For their benefit
And for their
Sad hopes
And wishes:
Changing babies diapers,
Washing dishes.
Sure, I had my times,
Had my wasted moments,
Had the tears
And dark days
And nights,
The bullyboy thumping
And the fist to fist fights,
But that is just
Part and parcel
Of a longer game,
Sometimes
You just want
To be a nobody
And forget the fame.
