Go to INGdirect.com, which used to be Sharebuilder.com. You can buy stocks there for $4.00 per trade. The site is very user friendly. Pick stocks of companies you do business with every day. Research stocks you are interested in. It's all there for you on that site. I only own one share of one stock, Hewlett Packard, that I have owned for 10 years, but if I ever can afford to buy more. I will rely on my own common sense rather that entrust my money to someone else. I bought the share of Hewlitt Packard stock because my computer is a Hewlitt Packard, and I am quite satisfied with their product.
