Thank you, I Do Not Purr . . .. The form was made popular in the early 20th century by Adelaide Crapsey. They make really great epigrams.

Studied, Linda. In the case of Cinquain, Adelaide Crapsey's Triad always looms as the stirling representative of the form. You can find a copy of Triad at this link. Enjoy!

John--Have you read Crapsey's Triad? Her cinquain is the paradigm of my striving. Talk about serendipity! All the forces of the form were sure working for her when she came up with it! Thank you for the compliment.

Cinquain seems to be a study in epigrams, Glome. When I've read and or worked on writing one for a few hours, I'm ready for unfettered chat! Thank you for the nice comment.

I did go read Triad and I searched Cinquain to learn a bit more. Now, I am in the process of writing my own but with a little twist. I'll let you know when I'm done so you can critique. I'm on my way to get my husband's opinion now. Thanks for the introduction.

Just read Triad...I can see how this form intrigues you. The first "silent thing" is happening here...snow coming down fast and furious.
