Lakefront Nightlife

Lakefront Nightlife  (Inspired by a visit to the lakefront to clear my head one balmy fall night in 2003)

Came here crying, eyes are drying

                gusty blowing, moonlight glowing

Fries I'm eating, sights I'm seeing

                keeps me laughing, kinda baffling

                                As the

                                waves keep crashing

                                                up

                                                over the steps

                                                                and

                                                                onto the shore

Stars go hiding, clouds are rolling

                winds are swirling, teens go strolling

Fish are jumping, one duck bobbing

                litter tossing, no more sobbing

                                As the

                                Waves keep crashing

                                                up

                                                over the steps

                                                                and

                                                                onto the shore

Beer is chilling, raincoats dripping

                couple fishing, fellowshipping

Kids are swinging, music sounding

                grandpa snoozing, reels rebounding

                                As the

                                Waves keep crashing

                                                up

Teens are rapping, lovers kissing

                hat goes floating, nothings missing

Cars are honking, people crossing

                me observing, wind keep tossing
