After last weeks Survivor featuring crazy Sandy and an early blindside I wasn't sure if the drama and fun could continue. But oh has it ever as secrets were revealed and one of the wettest challenges ever was played. Concluding with an exile twist like never before and yet another blindeside. Oh how I love me some Survivor. After returning from their first visit with Jeff, Jalapao started their first fire and discussed Carolina going. Sandy was happy to stay, but she shouldn't get too comfortable considering she's next on the chopping block. Here's hoping the crazy lady stays just awhile longer! The next morning Jalapao was hungry and decided to crack open their watermelon. That wasn't enough though as they wanted some "meat". The guys, plus Sandy, headed out on the hunt and came across a termite mound. There they ate their fill of bugs, including some worms. Not the first time its been done on Survivor but it's always fun to see a Fear Factor challenge performed just for survival.
Over on Timberia things were looking bleak considering they couldn't start their fire, even after having the flint for a day. Sierra was the focal point of this segment and played it smart. She wants to find the idol on their beach and enlisted Branden's help. He seems like he won't tell and even helped dig a humongous hole. Luckily between they two they at least knew what a pace was. While Brendan was digging for the second clue, Debby came looking for them. Sierra came up with the idea that they were digging a pit for a bonfire and Debby bought it! That was a great ploy but some back at camp didn't really get their reason. Candace complained that it was pointless and would rather just sit at camp and "talk crap". Sierra then mentioned giving up the search for the idol, sadly.
Later that day Candace was involved in some more inter-tribal drama, this time with Coach. She was the one cooking the rice and he wanted to tell her how to do it. Since Candace is an "educated women" she can't take some suggestions, which is what Coach was giving her. Their argument ended with Coach trying to flirt his way out of trouble. It seemed like Candace was buying it but deep down she was simply playing along. Back over on Jalapao things were getting interesting. Taj revealed that her husband is a famous NFL player, making everyone realize that she is rich. It shouldn't really matter if someone is rich but it always comes into play. I mean who really wants to reward the millionaire with another million? Oh that's right, Big Brother contestants did it twice already.
For their single challenge of the night the two tribes faced off in a water basketball game. Three members from each team would race for a ball and try to score a point. The first tribe to three points would win immunity along with fishing gear. During the first round Candace scored an early goal, putting Timberia up by one. In the second round Sandy proved her worth by holding back Erinn, but Timberia was able to score thanks to Tyson. For round three things weren't looking great for Jalapao but luckily an all girl round proved positive as Sydney gained a life saving point. In round four Jalapao was able to score yet again, making it all tied up. Going into the final round both tribes were tired yet still fought hard. While many points were attempted, only Stephen scored the last point, giving Jalapao a surprising win. It's a good thing they did as Sandy is safe but now Sierra can go home! Jalapao was then told to choose someone to head to Exile. They chose Brendan who, thanks to Jeff, got to also take Taj with him.
Back at camp after their first win, Jalapao was excited. They immediately began to fish and it became apparent that JT and Stephen were a tight pair. Both became fast friends, in shock to them as JT is from the south and Stephen is a city guy. We'll have to see if that leads to a powerful alliance but it most likely will. Sandy was the only one to really show personal happiness for winning but of course we all know why she did. Over at the new Exile Island Brendan and new friend Taj started off with a twist. Both chose a gourd, with Brendan getting lucky and finding the clue. He walked off and read that the idol is back at the "home lands" which he didn't understand and didn't want to share with Taj at first. She kept begging and he FINALLY showed her the clue, allowing her to tell Brendan that the idol is back at their camp. Following that trek the two bonded and vowed to reconnect if they ever had to be sent back. Brendan wasn't completely truthful with Taj though as he didn't reveal the most important part of Exile: mutiny. Which he obviously wasn't going to do this early.
Now that Jalapao and Exile were shown it was back to Timberia for some pre-Tribal scrambling. All were on board to vote out Sierra as planned but oh how things changed. At first it seemed that Coach could receive some votes, thanks to Candace's mouth. She hated that he didn't perform well in the challenge and also couldn't stand his personality. Debby overheard Candace's complaints and immediately went to tell Coach. He was all for Sierra going, big time, but changed his mind thanks to the idea that Candace could send him home. It seems Coach was scared of Candace and went on the prowl to get her sent home. He talked to both Debby and Sierra about sending Candace home. Being that she was going in her place, Sierra obviously agreed. As did Debby who seems close to Sierra, which could be something to watch out for. Other then that Brendan returned and lied about his Exile stay. He let them know about the two gourd thing, but left out the point that HE was the one to get the clue. He told his tribe that Taj found the clue. It was smart, but I can see it coming back to bite him later.
Jeff was waiting for Timberia at their first Tribal Council and was ready to get down to things. Talk turned towards trust at the end as Jerry believed they all became friends early. Erinn spoke up to the fact that hey only know each other for a few days and didn't understand how he could say they were so tight. Debby then chimed in that she DOES trust people already, giving a few the chance to make a shocked face, although seeing how close she is to Sierra they shouldn't be that surprised. Just like the last episode it seemed obvious that Sierra would go. BUT as Jeff revealed the votes it came down to Candace receiving all but her own vote. Thanks to her mouth Candace was sent out without any clue of going, making Survivor Tocantins two for two in the blindside count. Is this a new record or what?
