Do you have one of these? Something in your life that no matter what is going on will make you happy? For me it is my son. I can come home from a hard day where nothing has gone right from the traffic going into work, the day at work, and then the traffic coming home, and yet just his smiling face and exuberant attitude at my homecoming is enough to melt that all away.
I think we all have things like this be they people in our lives or possibly just the simple pleasures of our lives. I have other pleasures as well. My dog Frankie is another one. Frankie is a mix of Jack Russell and Pekinese. He jumps practically as high as my head and he is always so excited to see me. His life isn't complete until I pay attention to him.
The other and one of the most important simple pleasures of my life and one that gives me an excuse for being happy is being wrapped up in my husband's arms. I feel his soft, and comforting skin against mine and I simply melt. My life is complete because he loves me. I have an excuse to be happy because he loves me.

He left for work in the morning and left me half-groggy in bed but kissed me goodbye and told me he'd talk to me later in the day to find out how I made out at the oncology office as I just had a mammogram and sonogram.
I pulled into the parking lot of the medical offices this morning and I saw a jeep that looked like Gary's but he was at work. I was running late so I quickly parked and practically ran up the stairs as I was eager to find out my results since I have already had breast cancer and the recent tests were not very clear.
As soon as I opened the door to the doctor's office, Gary was sitting there reading a magazine. He took a break from work to be with me for my appointment so we could ask questions together about the recent results.
He was there to hold me and told me even if it turned out to be cancer again, he'd be by my side.
More tests have been ordered but I feel so loved tonight, I know I could face what ever happens as my husband takes our vows seriously.
