Tanka Tickler (Tanka Chain)

Tanka time for you
Rhythm without any rhyme
Five lines to display
Fleeting moments of our love
Enjoyed by your scanning eyes

The memory shines
Of your warm, glistening face
The puppy in hand
A fluff ball of squirming licks
The joy in your lovely eyes

Healing laughter peals
When you learn your son is safe
And you hug me hard
A lifetime of mothering
Released for some heartfelt tears

The years roll swiftly
Joy and tears each hold their days
Captive for all time
Crying and smiling in turn
Their presences in your heart

Now written for you
Tanka rhythm without rhyme
Ticklers for mem’ry
To recall your life’s fullness
As you read and know our peace

This one reminds me of my dream last night of puppies running around and nearly getting hit by cars in the road and I was trying to save them. Funny how your poems always strike a chord and a memory with me. I'd say you're a sheer talent. Thank you for posting to our group.
