IT HELP DESK ASSISTANT
The purpose of this position is to provide immediate support and resolution of any information technology problems at the Federation of American Scientists including desk tops, lap tops, printers, servers, network, software and all out-sourced systems. This person will be the initial contact for any IT problems and questions and will replace the IT Administrator in his absence.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Advanced knowledge of company supported applications
Ability to learn and support new applications
Very good communication and interpersonal skills to work with staff
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Answer staff questions in person and via phone on all company supported applications.
Troubleshoot computer problems.
Determine cause of computer problems (hardware, software, user access, etc.).
Correct problem and/or refer to supervisor for further action.
Serve as liaison between staff and the technology department to resolve issues.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform hardware and software installations.
Provide on-the-job training to new department staff members.
Provide computer orientation to new company staff.
