After the nice day we had last week, I have a really terrible case of spring fever. I just want it to be NICE. I want to GO. I want to be out and about. I just LOVE road trips and I want to do more of them... but I hate winter driving.
Well Tuesday morning it was so sunny out that I couldn't take it anymore....
I NEEDED A ROAD TRIP....
so I did one of my half day Thrift store road trips...
I took my daughter
to school and then went from there.
Started out at the Goodwill in Muskegon, just off Sternberg road....

There I scored a gorgeous red LIKE NEW Land's End down vest for only $2.99!! I have been looking for another vest, since I HATE WINTER and REFUSE to wear winter coats!
(my current attire is a yellow down vest... and they get dirty quick so I wanted another vest to switch to when I'm washing)
I just can't stand the restriction that winter coats put on my arms when I am trying to move.
I also got
another Bratz doll for my daughters collection for $1.00! (yeah the doll WAS shoeless, but still a bargain for a buck, and my daughter has extra shoes.)
A few miles up the road I hit the other Goodwill in Muskegon Heights. I actually didn't buy anything there... didn't find a single thing.
Next I proceeded to the Value Land Thrift store. All I got there was a few books and a picture frame... BUT learned about a sale they are having next week that I HAVE to hit for a project I have brewing in my sneaky little head!
After that I went to the Hope's Treasures thrift store. There I scored a cookbook, a brand new pkg. of double sided tape, and a rubber stamp.
Last but not least on my trip was the Muskegon Mission Thrift store in North Muskegon, on Apple Avenue. There I picked up a few more cookbooks for my collection, a nice basket for the girls new b
athroom and some craft magazines.
It wasn't an all day road trip like I usually do, because I needed to pick up my daughter at school, but nonetheless, it was a refreshing getaway to tide me over until warmer days!!
SPRING.... WHERE ARE YOU....
PLEASE COME SOON!!!!!!!!

Back before Christmas, I found 14 Bratz Dolls with shoes and clothes for $.59 each at the regular Goodwill. I picked out the "ho" clothes, though, and ordered more shoes on eBay, and gave them to Gilly for Christmas.

We even go to Detroit for a weekend and camp and thrift.... it's so fun.
We camp down at Highland Park Rec Area near White Lake and use it as our base for doing all of the greater Detroit area. There are some AWESOME thrift stores down there and many so close together you just drive down the block and find one after another!
In the summer there is lots of yard sales/block sales too... it's a thrifters paradise!
The only good one I ever found up north was Salvation Army in Cheyboygan.... we always found great deals there... nice stuff too. We don't get up that way too much anymore... since the grandparents sold the cottage.
I haven't been on a road trip like that in a LONG time!
