James works at a Antique store and he will randomly bring me things, or give them to me as gifts for special occasions. I love antiques and things that aren't even antique but still hold so much history in them. I love to touch a piece of history and to hold it in my hand. Even if the history is just of some person who is not known in history books. Some things though do make me sad. Like old pictures for instance. They hold so much family history for someone but it has been lost to them. His store and many other stores I have been to have stacks and stacks of pictures of people who is someones Grandmother or Great Grandfather.
But anyways I got off subject of what I wanted to share.

This was a Valentines card he gave me instead of going out and getting a new one. I really like it. Not to mention it is really cute.

This was one of those random things he brought to me. It is an old picture taken of Oklahoma City. I don't know what year it was taken though. I would guess somewhere around the 40s or 50s.

This is an old postcard sent from a C. B. Ross in Kingfisher, Oklahoma Territory on 8/1/1892 to Mr. John H. Curtis in Oklahoma City. So this was before Oklahoma became a state. I think this is one of my favorites of the postcards he has brought home for me.The writing is too hard for me to make out the whole card though. I did see that someone was working for $12.00 a month. It never ceases to amaze me how much they lived off back then.

This box of random things was given to me on Christmas as part of my Christmas present. It was a lot of fun looking through all of it.

This is a postcard that cam out of this box and it is now one of my new favorite things. I read it toda for the first time and it is an interesting thing to read.
It was written by a W. M. Taylor from Lakeside, Calif. on 9/27/1908 to a Master Barney Lewis in Creston, Iowa. It reads....My Dear Nephew, I saw this card in a window and it made me think of you. I guess you are about this size now aint you. You must be a good boy and learn to swear at your mamma. Learn to smoke cigarettes and chew tobacco and you will soon be a man. Your Uncle, W.M. Taylor

These also came in the box. It is just some Civil War oriented things that he found. I am very much into anything Civil War, especially anything confederate. My GG Grandfather was a Confederate for Texas so when I find things to do with Confederates I feel like I learn a little about him.

This is a 1936 yearbook from Dexter, Kansas. Its pretty cool to look at. The senior class was only made up of 17 students.

This is some old piano sheet music. James got this for when we get a house we will be able to put our piano in the living room and he thought this would look cool sitting on the piano.
So anyways that is some of the treasures I have gotten that I wanted to share. I hope you enjoyed it.
